Engineering grade chains can be used on a wide variety of equipments such as street sweepers and amphibious equipments (marsh buggies), or conveying applications for automated assembly plants, or many other conveying processes.  Depending on the application requirements, engineering grade conveying chains can either have heat treated or un-heat treated side bars.  Pins, bushings and rollers are all heat treated.  While inner chain width, link plate thickness and pin dimensions stay the same, chain pitch and roller dimensions can vary depending on the requirements of an application without affecting the chain's performance.
